Laugh Comics was a comic book produced by Archie Comics from 1946 to 1987. The title began with issue #20 (continuing the numbering from <i>Black Hood Comics</i>, and before that <i>The Hangman</i>, and before that <i>Special Comics</i>) and showcased some of the early appearances of the "Archie gang."
<p>The first issue of this comic series is titled <i>Special Comics</i> and was printed in Winter 1942, then Archie Comics changed the title to <i>The Hangman</i> for issues 2 though 8, then issues 9 to 19 are titled <i>Black Hood Comics</i>, and then the rest of the series is titled <i>Laugh Comics</i>.
<p>Beginning with issue #145, Josie began making semi-regular appearances (some of her earliest), with art by Dan DeCarlo. The series finally concluded with issue #400 in 1987. A second volume, titled simply Laugh, appeared a few months later, lasting until August 1991.
