The original Star Wars comic book series, published by Marvel Comics from 1977-1986. The series started as an official adaption, but built on the legacy after the original film's ending.
It lasted for 107 issues which ended in September 1986. Marvel added issue # 108 in July of 2019 in celebration of Marvel's 80th Anniversary.
Marvel lost the rights to Star Wars but got them back in 2015 when they released the <a href="https://wonderclub.com/comicbooks/comicbook.htm?comic=STARWARSMARVEL2">Volume 2</a> of their Star Wars series.
