Yacht Mary was built in the Netherlands for the Dutch East India Company in 1660. It was presented as a gift to King Charles II of England. As the distinctive leeboards indicate, Yacht Mary was built especially for navigating in shallow waters. She struck a reef and sank in 1675, but her remains were recovered in 1971. |
